Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Coffee Database (TCDB), you agree to comply with these Terms of Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the platform.

Description of Service

TCDB is a community-driven database that allows users to:

• discover coffee products
• submit product information
• review and rate coffee
• upload photos
• interact with community content

Feature Access and Account Types

TCDB may provide different features, tools, or capabilities based on account type, role, or status within the platform.

Certain features may be limited to specific account types, including but not limited to:

• vendor accounts
• verified brand accounts
• high-ranking or tiered users

These features may include enhanced posting capabilities, media options, or other platform tools.

For example, vendor and verified accounts may be permitted to upload or use animated media such as GIFs within posts, while other account types may have restricted access to such features.

TCDB reserves the right to:

• enable or disable features for specific account types
• modify feature availability at any time
• expand or restrict access to features without notice
• revoke access to features if accounts violate platform policies

Access to specific features does not imply endorsement by TCDB.

Promotions, Perks, and Giveaways

TCDB may, at its discretion, offer promotions, perks, rewards, or giveaways to users, including those associated with specific ranks, tiers, or levels within the platform.

Participation in such promotions is subject to the following conditions:

• eligibility is determined solely by TCDB
• promotions may be limited by region, availability, or time
• rewards, perks, or giveaways are not guaranteed
• TCDB may modify, suspend, or discontinue promotions at any time without notice
• eligibility for a rank or tier does not guarantee receipt of any reward

Promotions may be provided directly by TCDB or by third-party partners.

TCDB is not responsible for:

• fulfillment of third-party sponsored rewards
• delays, defects, or issues related to partner-provided items
• errors in promotion availability or eligibility

Users are responsible for complying with any additional terms, conditions, or eligibility requirements associated with specific promotions.

TCDB reserves the right to:

• revoke eligibility for promotions
• disqualify users for abuse, fraud, or policy violations
• substitute rewards when necessary

Promotions are void where prohibited by law.

Referral Links and Affiliate Programs

TCDB may include referral links, affiliate links, or tracking parameters within links displayed on the platform.

These links may generate commissions or benefits for TCDB when users interact with them.

Users may not:

• add, embed, or promote their own referral or affiliate links within TCDB
• modify links to include personal tracking parameters or referral codes
• use TCDB content or platform features to distribute personal referral links
• attempt to bypass or replace TCDB referral links with their own

TCDB reserves the right to:

• remove or replace any user-submitted links
• modify links to include TCDB referral or tracking parameters
• restrict or remove content containing unauthorized referral links
• suspend or take action against accounts that violate this policy

Links shared within TCDB may be modified, redirected, or replaced at any time to ensure consistency, security, or platform integrity.

Username and Account Naming Policy

Username Selection

When creating a TCDB account, users may choose a username to represent their profile on the platform.

Usernames must not:

• impersonate brands, companies, or other individuals
• contain offensive, abusive, or inappropriate language
• violate trademark or intellectual property rights
• mislead users about affiliation with a business or organization
• attempt to imitate official TCDB accounts or platform staff

TCDB reserves the right to determine whether a username violates these guidelines.

Username Changes and Enforcement

TCDB reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

• modify or rename usernames
• reclaim usernames
• remove usernames
• suspend accounts using prohibited usernames
• restrict usernames that violate platform policies

This may occur without prior notice if the username violates community standards, platform policies, applicable laws, or any other reason deemed necessary by TCDB staff.

Reserved Usernames

TCDB may reserve certain usernames for operational or security purposes.

This includes usernames related to:

• TCDB services or platform features
• official brand accounts
• administrative or moderation functions

Usernames may also be reclaimed if necessary to prevent impersonation, brand confusion, or misuse of the platform.

Username and Handle Sales

Usernames and handles on TCDB are issued for use within the platform and remain under the control of TCDB.

Users may not:

• sell usernames or handles
• purchase usernames from other users
• transfer usernames as part of a sale or transaction
• auction or advertise usernames for sale
• broker username sales between users

Attempts to sell or transfer usernames may result in:

• username reassignment
• account suspension
• permanent account termination

Username Reclamation Rights

TCDB reserves the right to reclaim, rename, or reassign usernames and accounts when necessary to:

• enforce platform policies
• prevent impersonation or fraud
• resolve trademark or brand disputes
• protect the integrity of the TCDB platform

Inactive Account Usernames

TCDB may reclaim usernames associated with inactive accounts in order to maintain platform integrity or make usernames available for legitimate use.

Database Ownership

The Coffee Database operates and maintains a structured database containing coffee product information, images, reviews, and metadata.

All compiled database records, structured entries, and organized data within TCDB are the property of TCDB.

By submitting content to TCDB, including images or photographs, users acknowledge and agree that:

• submitted content becomes part of the TCDB database
• TCDB retains ownership of content within the database
• TCDB may store, modify, display, and reorganize the content
• content may remain in the database even if the submitting account is removed

Users must only submit content they have legal authority to transfer to TCDB.

Database Protection

The TCDB database is protected by intellectual property and database rights laws.

Unauthorized activities include:

• scraping TCDB pages
• bulk extraction of product data
• rebuilding competing databases
• automated harvesting of metadata
• copying database structure

Violations may result in blocked access and legal enforcement.

AI Training Restrictions

TCDB content may not be used to train artificial intelligence systems or machine learning datasets without written permission from TCDB.

Platform Availability

TCDB does not guarantee uninterrupted service and may experience downtime or maintenance periods.

Limitation of Liability

TCDB is not liable for damages arising from:

• inaccurate database information
• user-generated reviews
• service interruptions
• data loss

Use of TCDB is at the user's own risk.

Indemnification

Users agree to indemnify TCDB against claims arising from:

• submitted content
• violation of intellectual property rights
• misuse of the platform

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.

Arbitration and Class Action Waiver

Disputes related to TCDB may be resolved through binding arbitration.

Users agree not to participate in class action claims against TCDB.

Community Guidelines

Our Community

The Coffee Database is a community-driven platform where users share knowledge about coffee products.

We encourage respectful, honest, and helpful contributions.

Respect Other Users

Users should engage respectfully with the community.

The following are not allowed:

• harassment
• hate speech
• threats
• personal attacks
• discriminatory language

Honest Reviews

Reviews should reflect genuine experiences.

Users may not:

• post fake reviews
• manipulate ratings
• coordinate review campaigns
• misrepresent relationships with brands

Accurate Contributions

Users may contribute product information such as flavor notes, origin details, and UPC corrections.

Please make reasonable efforts to ensure contributions are accurate.

Photos and Media

Users may upload images of coffee products.

Only upload images you own or have permission to share.

Do not upload copyrighted or irrelevant images.

Enhanced Media Features

Certain account types, such as verified or vendor accounts, may have access to additional media features including animated content.

All media, including GIFs, must still comply with community standards and content policies.

No Spam or Promotional Abuse

TCDB is not a platform for unsolicited advertising.

The following are prohibited:

• spam posts
• repetitive promotional content
• fake accounts used for advertising

Manipulating Data

Users may not attempt to manipulate rankings, reviews, or database information.

Moderation

TCDB moderators may remove content, restrict accounts, or suspend users who violate these guidelines and reserve the right to delete, modify, update, and or remove any content for any reason.

Promotions Conduct

Users may not attempt to exploit, manipulate, or abuse promotions, giveaways, or ranking systems to gain unfair or unbalanced advantages.

Referral Links

Users may not post or share personal referral or affiliate links on TCDB.

Links may be removed or replaced by TCDB, including the addition of TCDB referral or tracking parameters.

Data Sources & Attribution

About TCDB Data

The Coffee Database is built from a combination of:

• community contributions
• brand submissions
• publicly available product information
• third-party product databases
• barcode lookup services

Community Contributions

Many TCDB entries originate from user contributions, including reviews, flavor notes, and product information.

Because the database is crowdsourced, information may occasionally be incomplete or outdated.

Brand Submissions

Coffee brands may submit official product information and request verification through:

getverified@tcdb.app

Verification confirms identity but does not imply endorsement.

Third-Party Sources

Product information may originate from external sources such as public product databases or brand websites.

TCDB cannot guarantee the accuracy of third-party information.

Brand & Vendor Participation Policy

Brand Verification

Coffee brands may request verification through:

getverified@tcdb.app

Verification may require documentation confirming brand ownership.

Verified Brand Privileges

Verified brands may:

• update brand descriptions
• submit official product information
• correct product metadata
• upload official product images

Verified accounts may have access to enhanced content tools, including the ability to use additional media formats such as animated images (GIFs) within posts, where supported by the platform.

These features are intended to improve content quality and may be modified or restricted by TCDB at any time.

Brand Conduct

Brands may not:

• manipulate ratings
• submit fake reviews
• harass users
• misrepresent products

Review Independence

Reviews reflect the opinions of individual users and may not be removed simply because they are negative.

Automated Access Policy

Purpose

This policy governs how automated systems may interact with the TCDB platform.

Authorized Access

TCDB services are intended for normal human use through the website or official applications.

Prohibited Automated Activity

Automated systems may not:

• scrape TCDB pages
• harvest product data
• collect images in bulk
• extract database records
• build datasets from TCDB content
• train artificial intelligence systems using TCDB data

Enforcement

TCDB may block IP addresses, restrict access, or pursue legal remedies against unauthorized automated access.

Traffic Monitoring

TCDB may monitor traffic patterns to detect scraping or abuse and may apply rate limits or access restrictions where necessary.
